Results of the project at the 15 International Phytotechnology Conference
The conference is an annual event united scientists, engineers, professionals, practitioners from all over the world to present recent advances and applications of phytoremediation. 15 IPC was scheduled for October 1-5, 2018 in Novy Sad, Serbia and jointly organized by University of Novy Sad and Phytoremediation Society. About 200 participants from 16 countries participated in 3 days plenary and poster sessions and field trip. The conference coincided with 60th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment at the University of Novy Sad.
Results of the project was introduced at two oral reports presented by Valentina Pidlisnyuk (UJEP) and Lawrence Davis (KSU) and 2 posters presented by Asil Nurzhanova (IPBB) and Tatyana Stefanovska (NULES). Zeljka Zgorelec from Zagreb University, Croatia (liasoning institution) delivered oral report as well.
While at the conference members of NATO team had informal meeting and minutes with Dr.Marta Pogrzeba (Institute for Ecology of Industrial Areas, Poland), Tomas Masek (University of Chemical Technology, Prague), Alan Baker (University of Melbourne, Australia), Sasa Orlovic, Dean of the Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment, University of Novy Sad, Nikola Bilandzija (Zagreb University, Croatia) and Barbara Zeeb ( Royal Military College, Canada).
Co-Directors meeting was organized in a framework of the conference, in which NDP Valentina Pidlisnyuk, PPD Tatyana Stefanovska, Co-Directors Lawrence Davis and Asil Nurzhaniva and Head of the Research Microbiology Group Josef Trogl participated. The current state of the project activities and foreseeing for future field research and plan for book’s writing were discussed.
