On July 9-13, 2017 two members of UJEP team Dr. Josef Trögl and PhD student Diana Nebeská participated at 7th Congress of European Microbiologists (FEMS 2017) in Valencia, Spain. This event was organised by Federation of European Microbiological Societies. Latest knowledge of molecular approaches, bioremediation, biodiversity, eukaryotic microbes, virology and other topics were presented by leading European microbiologists there.
Dr. Trögl presented topic „Investigation of biological activity indicators for military contaminated soil“ during poster session in section Environmental Microbiology/Microbial Ecology /Microbial Communities. This presentation was prepared together with our partners from IPBB Almaty, Kazakhstan.
D. Nebeská presented results of pot experiment with military contaminated soil from Sliač, Slovakia during poster session (Environmental Microbiology/Microbial Ecology /Microbial Communities section) with presentation „Microbial communities characteristics during two-year growth of biofuel crop Miscanthus x giganteus on the military contaminated soil“.
They also had opportunity to discuss results of oil biodegradation with PhD student Catherine Esuola who worked together with UJEP team during her internship in 2016.
