Participation of young scientists at Dutch-Ukrainian training

On September 19, 2017 Dr. Volodymyr Kvak and MSc Artem Medkov, PhD student, NULES took part at Dutch-Ukrainian training “Biofuels Market in Ukraine: A Step to Energy Independence”. The event was held within the framework of International conference “Biomass for Energy, 2017”, Kyiv, Ukraine,

The forum’s trainers were: Mr.Hans van Klinck, the Netherland State-private PIB project “Bioenergy Ukraine” and Mr. Voltaire Elbersen, WUR. They focused at the topics on biomass energy use chains and creation an additional value, presented the procedure of Kvant (RVO) Standardization and certification of solid biofuels.

During discussion followed Dr.Volodymyr Kvak and Mgr. Artem Metkov shared information about the results of G4687 project. While at forum they had minutes with Mr.Oleksander Kucheruk, Energo Agrar LLC; Mr.Casey Quantum, Netherlands Agency of Entrepreneurs (RVO), Ministry of Economy of the Netherland, Mr.Spance Carolyn, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukrain), Mr.Hans van Klinck, Dutch Sustainable Development BV (DSD), Mr. Raud Mayenbruck, BTG-BTL, and Dr.Wolter Elbersen, Institute of Food and Biobased Research, Wageningen University and Reserch Center. Specifically, the issue on using PGRs and other amendments for increasing miscanthus biomass production at the military contaminated sites were discussed deeply.
