Open-air sub-workshop (as part of workshop 2 for Ukrainian end-users), Kyiv region

The open-air Sub-workshop for Ukrainian participants (as part of workshop 2) was provided on October 3, 2020 in Tokarivka, Kyiv region, Ukraine where the research miscanthus plantation was established in 2017 within the framework of NATO SPS MYP G4687 project. 12 farmers and land-owners from Skvira rajon, Kyiv region were trained at the event. Participants were from the following villages: Tokarivka, Shapievka, Shamraivka, Mali Lisivtzi, and from Skvira town. The event was provided at the open air near the miscanthus field in village Tokarivka taken the advantage of the good weather conditions. Young research from NULES Maria Obruch led the event. She introduced the miscanthus phytotechnology with biomass production which was developed within the NATO SPS MYP G4687 project with focus on the impact of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs), soil amendments and weather conditions. The second reduction of the Guide Book “Phytotechnology with biomass production for revitalization of land, contaminated or damaged because of military activities” (in Ukrainian) was prepared and published before the event. The Guide-Book was disseminated among participants. Participants had a possibility to overview the positive effect of PGRs “Stimpo” and “Charkor” to miscanthus biomass parameters while growing crop at the established field 3 years
