On October 29-31 prof. Valentina Pidlisnyuk and PhD student Diana Nebeska, UJEP participated in the 10th International Miscanthus conference in Cheb-Franzenbad, Czech Republic. The event was organized by Association for Miscanthus and perennial grasses MEG e.V. in cooperation with University of Bonn, Institute of Crop Sciences and Resources Conservation, Germany and hosted by HVG firm Handels & Vertriebsgenossenschaft, Germany-Czech Republic. The main discussed topic at the regular bi-annual conference of the association was “Bioeconomy but not without the miscanthus”. The event brought together produces of perennial crops biomass, researchers and investors in order to introduce innovation in miscanthus biomass production and converting to bioproducts, i.e. cellulose, fibers, construction materials, and bundling the practice with scientific expertise into a single integrative approach.
Prof. Pidlisnyuk did the plenary presentation entitled “Application of Miscanthusxgiganteus phytotechnology to the military polluted soils” and participated in the conference’ s discussions events and excursion. PhD student Nebeska did a presentation “Novel approach for modification pf lignin content in Miscanthusxgiganteus”.
While at the conference prof.Pidlisnyuk had a meeting and minutes, including those with prof. Ralf Pude, University of Bonn, Campus Klein-Altendorf, Germany; Sergii Chabannyi, General manager of “BioEcoEnergy Company, Croatia; Andreas Schweitzer, Alpha Power International management Consultancy, Germany; Walter and Susanne Bahr, members of MEG e.V. board, Germany; Max Schulte, student at the University of Hohhenheim, Germany.
